Nightline
A night running club that grew from forty friends to two thousand runners, and needed to look like it.

/ Overview
They had the runners. They needed a club people could see from the river.
Nightline started as forty friends running the Lisbon riverside after work. Two years later, two thousand people showed up on Thursdays, and the club still had no name on its shirts.
The brief was a logo. The real job was a system that could carry a race series, a weekly ritual and a city's worth of posters.

02
/ Challenge
At night, a runner sees your poster for four seconds, under a street light.
Every poster, bib and post had to read in the dark, at a distance, while moving. Anything subtle disappeared, and so did anything that looked like a gym.
So the identity was never a logo. It was a signal you could recognise at full speed.
03
/ Identity
One wide word, read at full speed.
A stretched wordmark that reads from across the street and holds under any street light.

/ City
A club the whole riverside could see.
From the first forty runners to two thousand, the city became the backdrop of every image.
