Halden
A bank account for freelancers that finally speaks their language, from the logo to the last screen of the app.

/ Overview
Freelancers were using a bank built for salaries.
Halden started as a team of four in Lisbon with one idea: income that arrives in irregular waves needs a different kind of bank.
We designed the identity and the iOS app together, so the brand and the product would speak with one voice.

02
/ Challenge
Money apps all look the same, and freelancers trust none of them.
The brief was to stand out in a category of blue gradients and stock smiles, without losing the seriousness a bank needs.
So we designed a quiet bank: fewer numbers, plainer words, and one clear answer on every screen.
03
/ Identity
A name and a mark that hold at twelve pixels.
Halden lives on bank cards, push notifications and invoices. The wordmark was drawn to stay legible at every one of those sizes.

04
/ App
Every screen answers one question.
How much can I spend? When does the next payment land? What do I set aside for tax? Nothing else competes for attention.

/ Launch
Launched with portraits of real members.
No models. We photographed twelve Halden members in their own studios, at work.
